Bentley Continental GTC Captures Prestigious Award

The Bentley Continental GT Convertible (GTC) captured the prestigious Auto Trophy award for “Imported Convertibles over 30,000 euros" as voted for by readers of “Auto Zeitung” magazine.  Exactly 110,825 readers participated in this year’s survey.  Auto Zeitung is an influential German automotive publication with a bi-weekly circulation of more than 200,000.

The award was presented by editor-in-chief Volker Koerdt at the 25^th Auto Trophy gala ceremony in Düsseldorf last night.

Bentley’s acclaimed 6-liter, 12-cylinder, twin-turbocharged powertrain churns out 567bhp and 516lb ft. of torque; it is mated to a Quickshift transmission which enables double downshifts. The engine is coupled to an all-wheel drive system with a sporty 40:60 rear-torque bias.  The system minimizes understeer during hard cornering so an experienced driver can control the car’s line and balance via precise throttle control.

2012 marks the first time that the Bentley Continental has captured the hearts - and votes - of readers from the prestigious publication. Bentley’s luxury convertible displaced the Ferrari 458 Spyder from the top spot. That fact is very appreciated at Central Texas’ only authorized Bentley dealership.
